Martinez Tire & Auto Center does computerized wheel alignment at our O'Connor Rd shop in San Antonio. If your car pulls to one side, your steering wheel sits crooked, or your tires are wearing on one edge, an alignment sets the angles back to spec and protects your tires.

What an alignment actually does
An alignment does not touch the tires themselves. It adjusts the suspension angles that decide how each tire meets the road. The three that matter most are camber, the tilt in or out, toe, whether the tires point straight ahead or slightly toward each other, and caster, which affects steering feel and stability.
When those angles drift, the car still drives, but the tires scrub instead of rolling cleanly. That wears them out early and unevenly.
Signs you need one
- The car drifts or pulls when you let go of the wheel on a straight road
- The steering wheel is off center when you are driving straight
- Tires wearing faster on the inside or outside edge
- You just hit a big pothole or curb, or had suspension or steering parts replaced
- You put on new tires and want them to last
A vibration is usually a balance issue rather than alignment. If that sounds like your car, see tire balancing.
Alignment and the rest of your car
An alignment can only be set correctly if the parts it adjusts are in good shape. Worn tie rods, ball joints, or control arm bushings will not hold an angle. If we find worn parts, we will show you before recommending suspension repair.
Alignment is done at 12040 O'Connor Rd. Lifted and leveled trucks need an alignment after the install too, which is part of our lift kit and leveling kit work.
Questions we hear
How often should I get an alignment?
Check your owner's manual, but a good rule is to have it checked when you buy new tires, after any hard impact, and any time the car starts pulling.
Is alignment the same as balancing?
No. Balancing evens out weight around each tire and wheel to stop vibration. Alignment sets the angles of the wheels to the car. They fix different problems.
Can you align a lifted truck?
Yes. Any lift or leveling kit changes suspension geometry, so an alignment afterward is part of doing the install right.
